pills for male potency

Erectile dysfunction problems affect millions of men around the world. However, recently, pharmacology has developed many drugs to improve the quality of sexual life of a strong half of humanity. Each of these drugs has its own peculiarities, which are sometimes difficult to understand.

Reasons for Male Impotence

These reasons can be varied. It is no secret that we live in a world full of stress, in cities with poor environmental conditions, and the sedentary lifestyle of most of the population has an impact. Therefore, since the age of 40 men have been experiencing problems with their bed performance. And this entails not only discomfort, but also problems in life, family breakdown and social instability, chronic diseases and health problems, which have recently become the property of quite young men, also contribute to this:

  • overweight
  • hypertension
  • cardiovascular diseases
  • diabetes
  • neuroses
  • depression
  • hormonal disturbances

Potency disorders are divided into two main varieties – erectile dysfunction and early ejaculation. An erection occurs as follows. In response to the sexual stimulus, the walls of the blood vessels supplying the penis blood are relaxed. As a result, the penis, or more precisely, its cavety bodies, is filled with blood. However, if for some reason there is a spasm, there is no erection or it is too weak.

Many enzymes are involved in this process. First of all, it is phosphodiesterase as well as nitrogen oxide. Also, men often have problems with the duration of an erection or early ejaculation. As a rule, they are caused by another reason – the lack of neurotransmitters in the nervous system.

Types of Drugs for Increasing Potency

There are several types of drugs for impotence. Here are their main groups:

  • Phosphodiesterase inhibitors
  • Synthase stimulants
  • Alpha adrenergic blockers
  • Antispasmodic
  • Based on plant or animal components.

Most of the medicines are taken orally in the form of tablets. However, there are also injectables and even sprays. Needless to say, in most cases, tablet pills are much more convenient, and injections are not always possible just before intercourse.

Phosphodiesterase Inhibitors

The most famous group of drugs. A list of the main drugs in the group:

  • Sildenafil
  • Tadalafil
  • Udenafil
  • Vardenafil

Sildenafil is sold under the famous Viagra brand name. The drug was created by the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer. The properties of the drug, affecting the potency, were discovered by chance, because originally the drug was intended for the treatment of low blood pressure (hypotension). The action of the drug is quick – within a few minutes, although this time can be individual for everyone, and it lasts up to 4 hours.

In spite of the fact that today there are also more effective drugs that increase the potency, Sildenafil is still popular. In addition to the original drug (Viagra), there are a number of generics based on the same active ingredient (Sildenafil). They mainly differ from Viagra in price.

Drugs are intended only to strengthen the erection, not to restore sexual desire. Studies show that the effectiveness of drugs in this group is quite high and amounts to 70-92%. These are relatively safe drugs, although they should not be taken without a doctor’s recommendation, especially for people with chronic illnesses.

Viagra

A means to increase potency. Refers to selective phosphodiesterase inhibitors of type 5. The principle of action is based on the release of nitrogen oxide in penis vessels during sexual stimulation.

Indications: Violations of the erection, expressed in its insufficient duration or strength.

Contraindications: Simultaneous use of nitrogen oxide donators, as well as any organic nitrite or nitrate, age under 18 years, female sex. Nitrogen Oxide

The action of this group of drugs is based on the increase in the production of nitrogen oxide, which has an impact on the expansion of blood vessels. The most common drug of the group is Impasa. Impase helps to relax smooth muscles, which leads to improved filling of cave bodies of the penis with blood.

The advantage of the product is that it can be taken in the presence of cardiovascular disorders, such as excessive blood pressure. In addition, it can also improve sexual desire (libido). The use of this drug on a permanent basis contributes to the increase of testosterone. At the same time, taking the drug is contraindicated when taking phosphodiesterase inhibitors at the same time, as it may cause a significant reduction in pressure. Given the small number of side effects, this drug may be the best choice as a cure for impotence at the age of 60 years or older. Some other substances, such as L-arginine, have similar effects.

Impasa

Homeopathic drug used for erectile dysfunction. Contains antibodies to endothelial NO-synthase.

Packing: Suction tablets. In addition to a mixture of antibodies, contain lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.

Indications: Violation of libido, reduced potency, vegetative dysfunction in men’s menopause.

Contraindications: Personal intolerances of the product ingredients.

Directions: Recommended dose is one tablet per day. The tablet should be resorbed outside of eating time. Recommended course – 12 weeks.

Preparations of Testosterone

These drugs have an indirect effect on the potency, increasing the level of male hormone testosterone. Among the drugs in this group can be noted Fluoximesterone, methyltestosterone, Andriol TK, testosterone enanthate. They are prescribed by a doctor in the case of a decrease in the concentration of testosterone in the blood. They can be taken both in the form of pills and injected. There are also creams and gels to rub into the skin of the body and limbs. There is no point in rubbing the penis into the skin. Impotence cannot be treated with these products on your own.

Testosterone Enanthate

A hormone replacement drug used when there is a lack of testosterone production in the body.

Form of release: Solution in capsules for injections of 1 ml. Contains testosterone ether.

Indications: In men – endocrine impotence, testosterone deficiency, puberty disorders, eunuchoidism, osteoporosis caused by testosterone deficiency. In women – uterine myoma, hyperestrogenism, endometriosis, breast tumors.

Side effects: In men – frequent erections, spermatogenesis disorders, acceleration of puberty. In women – uterine bleeding, gynecomastia, hirsutism, depression, insomnia, cholestatic syndrome.

Directions for use: Instructions for use should be given by the doctor when prescribing the drug. The drug is injected into the gluteal muscle, intravenous injections are prohibited. Adults are usually given a single administration of 50-200 mg of the drug at intervals of 2-4 weeks. The maximum monthly dose is 400 mg.

Spasmolytics

Probably, few people know, but such widely known group of preparations, as preparations for spasms, also are capable to increase potency. This is due to the fact that in many cases the cause of bad erection is vascular spasm. Drugs such as drotaverine and papaverine are helpful in this case. However, they should not be taken in tablets (in this case, the effect of the drugs is very small), and used as injections into the penis tissue. The advantage of this type of drugs is their availability. As a rule, these are inexpensive drugs available to most customers.

Alpha-Adrenergic Blockers

These drugs block alpha-type adrenaline receptors in the vessels, resulting in their expansion, which leads to increased erection. There are both selective and non-selective alpha-blockers. One of the first is the alkaloid yohimbine, which blocks α-type receptors, which are located mainly in penis vessels.

Yocheimbine is a preparation derived from the tree of yohimbe. In addition to increasing erection, it has an effect on libido, increasing it. It also improves tone and fat metabolism. It is contraindicated in kidney disease and in old age.

Also, fentolamine, a non-selective alphaadrenoblocker, is often used to increase potency. It can be used both in the form of tablets and as injections into the skin of the penis.

Yohimbine

An aphrodisiac designed to improve potency. The effect is explained by the effect on type 2 alpha-adrenergic receptors, as well as on the adrenergic receptors of the brain.

Packing: Available in tablets. One tablet contains yohimbine hydrochloride 5 mg.

Indications: functional and psychogenic impotence, male menopause, bladder atony.

Contraindications: severe degree of hypertension, liver and kidney damage, concomitant use of adrenomymetics, childhood, female sex.

Side effects: tachycardia, hypertension, dyspepsia, dizziness, headache, diarrhoea.

Application: Accepted during meals. The tablet should be washed with water and not chewed. Initial dose – 2.5 mg three times a day – maximum – 5 mg three times a day.

Synthetic Analogues of Prostaglandins

These drugs are either injected into the urethra or injected into the skin of the penis. Alprostadil is the most common drug of its kind. The principle of its action is based on the strengthening of the locking venous mechanism of erection, as well as on the relaxation of the muscles of cavernous bodies and their intensive filling with blood. It also has an
Alpha-Adrenergic Blockers effect.

Antidepressants

Some serotonin reuptake inhibitors have an interesting side effect, namely that they can prevent premature ejaculation.

Such drugs include Dapoxetine, a drug for prolonging sexual intercourse. After its use, the time of sexual intercourse increases by about 3-4 times. The drug is taken several hours before sexual intercourse. However, an increased dose does not increase its duration, but only increases the number of side effects. Taking the drug can be combined with taking phosphodiesterase inhibitors, particularly Viagra.

Another antidepressant, trazodone, is also able to cause penis vasodilation due to its effect on alpha-adrenergic receptors. It is usually injected.

Drugs that Enhance Blood Circulation in Tissues

These drugs alone can’t make an erection worse. However, in combination with other drugs, they can increase their effect, so they can be prescribed by a doctor as an additional measure. These include Trental and Pentoxyphellin.

Potassium channel activators

The drugs activate the potassium channels in muscle cells, thus contributing to their relaxation. The drugs in this group include Minoxidyl. It can be used both in the form of tablets and on the skin of the penis.

Combination Drugs

This category includes preparations containing several components of different pharmacological groups, which reinforce each other. An example of such a drug is Super-P Force. It contains sildenafil and dapoxetine.

Sildenafil enhances erection and dapoxetine increases the duration of sexual intercourse.

Prostatic Drugs

Very often the cause of impotence is prostatitis. Therefore, the treatment of this disease often helps to restore the potency. Candles are often used to treat prostatitis with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antispasmodic properties.

Vitamins and Natural Products

These potency enhancers contain various types of plant raw materials or components of animal origin. Some of them use recipes developed by Oriental medicine.

Many dietary supplements increase stress resistance, have a rejuvenating effect, improve metabolism. At the same time, they can be used as a sexual desire and potency enhancers at the same time.

However, it should be noted that dietary supplements, unlike medicines, have not undergone clinical trials, so their effectiveness remains questionable. In addition, many dietary supplements are not cheap.

Therefore, they can only be taken at your own risk.

The following drugs are considered to be dietary supplements:

  • Golden Horse
  • Spaniard fly
  • Sialex
  • Alikaps
  • Lovelace
  • Eleutherococcus extract
  • Ginseng extract
  • Goji berries
  • Pantocrine drugs

Golden Ridge

Refers to the group of biologically active additives, contains only natural ingredients. It can be used as a means of increasing potency. It is a source of flavonoids and has a tonic and tonic effect. It is based on ingredients derived from seahorses.

Ingredients: extracts of seahorses, ginseng root, short-bowl leaves, stamen’s orthosiphon.

Indications: insufficient potency in men, frigidity in women, chronic fatigue, treatment and prevention of urolithiasis.

Contraindications: pregnancy and lactation, hypertension, age under 12 years, atherosclerosis, insomnia, heart failure.

Directions: Take 2 times a day: 2 tablets with meals, drinking warm water, or 2 tablets a few hours before sexual intercourse. Recommended course of treatment – 10-25 days.

When to Take Impotence Medication

Impotence medications should only be taken in case of potency disorders, and only in this case. If the erection is normal, then most of the drugs that increase the potency, will not be able to strengthen or prolong it. This is especially true of the phosphodiesterase inhibitor group (including Viagra). Uncontrolled use of drugs that increase potency, can only undermine health or lead to the opposite result – impotence.

It should also be borne in mind that most potency enhancing drugs have many side effects. There are no drugs for impotence without side effects, although manufacturers, of course, do not advertise it.

Not all drugs will be suitable for people after 40, 50 years old. Therefore, men with some chronic diseases – problems with the cardiovascular system, liver, diabetes, etc., should consult a doctor. Only then can the doctor say which drugs are safest, indicate the dosage, and take into account all risk factors and possible interactions with other drugs taken by the patient.
